Annotated typescripts of the Winstons' translations and Richard Winston's biographies and essays on German philosophy include translations from the work of Herman Hesse (THE BEAD GAME); Ernst Benz (BUDDHISM OR COMMUNISM); Jos Pieper (DEATH AND IMMORTALITY); Thomas Mann (LUBECK AS A WAY OF LIFE AND THOUGHT); also, Erich Von Kahler, Gerhart Ellert; Friedrich Durrenmatt; and Uwe Johnson. Also biographies: CHARLEMAGNE: FROM THE HAMMER TO THE CROSS and THOMAS BECKET. Essays include R. Winston's "An approach to Schiller," and "Nietzsche's philosophy in the light of recent history."
